Maintenance Tasks

This chapter provides information about the periodic maintenance tasks for SAP Central Finance Transaction Replication by insightsoftware and its components.

Upgrade Feasibility Matrix

Starting and Stopping

You can use the SAP Management Console to stop and start SAP systems including SAP S/4HANA. For information on how to perform the task, see Starting and Stopping SAP Systems Based on SAP NetWeaver

Periodical Tasks

For a better performance of the data load for Transaction, you can archive the data in the FIN% tables in the staging database periodically. This task can be performed by running the Purge_FIN_Data job. We recommend that you archive the data annually.

Backup and Recovery

We recommend that you manually back up the staging database on a weekly basis. For information about backup and recovery for SAP S/4HANA, see SAP S/4HANA Operations Guide. For information about the backup and recovery strategies for SAP LT Replication Server, see SAP Landscape Transformation Replication Server Application Operations Guide. For information about the backup and recovery of your ERP, see the corresponding documentation.

Monitoring

Logging and Tracing

Transaction validates and logs errors for the documents that cannot be loaded into SLT Replication Server. For information on how to identify the errors during the data load, see Load Data into SLT Replication Server. For information on how to reprocess the failed documents, see Error Handling . Also, for information on how to reprocess the documents that failed during the parallel load of flat file data, see Load Data in Parallel, Reprocess Documents.

Software Change Management

In SAP Support Portal, you can use the Software Downloads link to go to the Software Downloads page of SAP ONE Support Launchpad. You can download the package from the list of available support packages on the SUPPORT PACKAGES & PATCHES tab.

Support Desk Management

You can use the SAP ONE Support Launchpad to report incidents related to SAP Central Finance Transaction Replication by insightsoftware for SAP S/4HANA and its components. You must use the insightsoftware component, XX-PART-ISW-TRP, to create incidents in SAP ONE Support Launchpad.

Steps to Configure Connectivity Encryption

This section provides guidance on how to encrypt transaction data load at the source system and SLT. The following procedure is specific to Oracle E-Business Suite as the source system.

  1. Encrypting the ODBC Connection to the Oracle Database at the Transport Level (at Source): For the procedure to encrypt data load at the Source, refer to Document 2980134.1 (oracle.com). It requires user login. For more details about prerequisites and procedure for encryption, refer to Developers Blog.
  2. Encrypting Data Flow from the SAP SLT to target SAP S/4HANAdatabase: To encrypt the data load at the target level, refer to the SAP note at me.sap.com/notes/2825761/E.
