Setting Up Transaction, AVL, Drilldown, and Syncback
This chapter describes the high-level process for setting up and using Transaction, AVL, Drilldown, and SyncBack.
Transaction and AVL
The process for setting up and using Transaction and AVL is as follows:
- Install the Transaction for your source system. The extraction views are created on the basis of source tables. Also, the
FIN%tables that correspond to the interface tables in SLT Replication Server are created in the staging database. - Import the
.atlfile pertaining to your source system into your Data Services repository through SAP Data Services Designer. The objects, such as projects, jobs, and the corresponding data stores, related to data load are created. - Edit the data stores to update the connection details to point to your source system objects.
- Perform the following:
- (Only for Transaction) Map the master data in Transaction with the data in SAP S/4HANA using SAP Master Data Governance (MDG).
- Map the objects that could not be mapped through MDG using the
MSC_Lookup_Data.xlsxworkbook that you created during the configuration of SAP S/4HANA. - Place the
MSC_Lookup_Data.xlsxfile at the following location in your computer:\\SourceConnect\MasterMapping. - (Only for Transaction) Load the customer, vendor, or general ledger account balances data from your source system into SLT Replication Server.
- Perform an initial load of the historical transaction data into SLT Replication Server.
- Then, perform the incremental data load.
- For flat file data, perform the parallel loading of data from multiple source systems, if required.
- Reprocess the failed transactions that cannot be loaded into SLT Replication Server.
Drilldown
The process for setting up and using Drilldown is as follows:
- Install the Drilldown for your source system. The users and the database objects for each user are created.
- Import the
.atlfile pertaining to your source system into your Data Services repository through SAP Data Services Designer. The project, jobs, and the corresponding data stores are created in the repository. - Edit the data stores to update the connection details to point to your source system objects.
- Load the historical transaction data from your source system into SAP S/4HANA for Drilldown reporting.
- Perform the incremental data load.
SyncBack
The process for setting up and using SyncBack is as follows:
- Install the SyncBack for your source system. The source-specific APIs and the staging tables are created in the source database.
- Import the
.atlfile pertaining to your source system into your Data Services repository through SAP Data Services Designer. The project, jobs, and the corresponding data stores are created in the repository. - Load the payment data from SAP S/4HANA into the source system.
- Schedule and run the source-specific APIs to create the payments and clear the corresponding invoices in the source system.
