Use Audit Trail
An audit trail can be defined as a feature that documents each user activity, including changes and approvals, timestamp of dates and times, IP addresses, and user logins. It is a chronological record of changes or activities performed in a system, providing a detailed history of events.
Note: You must be an administrator to access the Audit Trail option on the SourceConnect Management Console.
You can perform the following tasks using the Audit Trail option:
-
Accessing the Audit Trail: As an Administrator, navigate to Administration > Audit Trail.
Here, you will find a record of all the requests that have ever been made to the application. Use the dropdown to select your time zone between UTC and Local to view the records for a specific date range.
-
Viewing and Downloading Data: In the Audit Trail option, you can view the data and download it in
CSVformat. You can filter the audit logs based on a time range and view stats by expanding the audit stats.By clicking the middle three cards, you can filter the data.Click again to clear the filter and load all the data in the Audit Trail option.
-
Modifying Column Preferences: There is an option to modify column preferences to view only the columns you want.
-
Purging Audit Data: You can purge or delete the audit data based on three time period choices. For example, you can delete data from the last 30 days. The details of who initiated the purge, when it was done, and other relevant details are captured.
-
Comparing Values: For a few operations that modify the underlying database such as importing a template and creating an instance, the View button shows a comparison of the values.
- Retention of Audit Trail: By default, the audit trail is retained for seven days. Beyond this time period, the data will be backed up in a CSV file located in installation folder. The default folder is Sourceconnect_Audit folder.
Refer to the Modify Application Configuration chapter for the steps to enable or disable the audit trail, modify the retention time period, and backup folder location.
