Upgrade Transaction

You can upgrade the software from any of the previous versions. When you are upgrading your instance from a previous version, read the release notes for the intervening versions between the current version and your product version to know about the enhancements, known issues, and fixed issues reported in those versions. Refer to the Upgrade Feasibility Matrix tab in the Product Availability Matrix (PAM) file for information on feasible upgrade options. If customizations are present in your instance, contact insightsoftware Support to upgrade your instance.

To upgrade your instance of Transaction from a previous version

  1. Compare the existing Transaction database objects with the installation scripts of the version to which you want to upgrade.
  2. For the objects that result in a difference, recreate or alter them using the scripts in the setup folder.
  3. Export the existing jobs in the SAP Data Services repository through SAP Data Services Designer.
  4. Use the jobs that are present in the Mappings folder of the setup files to import the data services objects (ATL/XML file) into the SAP Data Services repository.
  5. Compare the mappings in the upgraded jobs with the exported jobs and recreate the customizations, if any.
  6. Validate the mappings in the SAP Data Services repository.
  7. Set up SAP Data Services objects for the transaction and balances data load. For information, see theSet Up Data Services Objects.
  8. Run the incremental data load, and validate the data.
