User Management

This section provides information about how to manage user access and users in Master Data Replication.

Manage Access to Source Data, Data Services, Stage Database

To install and set up Master Data Replication in a customer environment, a user must be created in your environment and the user credentials must be shared with insightsoftware consultants. The user must be granted full access to the following:

  • Source System
    • Required permissions to run the scripts in the ERP source database and access the application tables
    • If your ERP source is Oracle E-Business Suite or JD Edwards EnterpriseOne on Oracle, access to Oracle Native CDC
    • If your ERP source is Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, access to Azure SQL Database linked to the source
  • SAP Data Services
    • SAP Data Services repository
    • Source database and target SAP S/4HANA access from the SAP Data Services server. If required, open ports, and add the TNS entries.
  • Staging schema in the staging database
  • Target SAP S/4HANA system

The following table summarizes the different tasks and the required permissions to perform the tasks.

Access RFC from SAP Data Services

To execute the following RFCs from SAP Data Services:

  • /MAGSH/RFC_MD_BP_MAINTAIN
  • /MAGSH/RFC_SCH_BP_MAINTAIN
  • /MAGSH/SCH_FM_CFIN_MAP

Application user should have the following:

  • SAP connection details in SAP Data Services, such as SAP application server, application user name, password, client, and system number.
  • Access to SAP application server from the computer where SAP Data Services is installed.
  • The roles /MAGSH/SCH_BP_ROLE and /MAGSH/SCH/CFIN_MAP_ROLE assigned.
  • Execute permission for the following RFCs:
    • /MAGSH/RFC_MD_BP_MAINTAIN
    • /MAGSH/RFC_SCH_BP_MAINTAIN
    • /MAGSH/SCH_FM_CFIN_MAP

Access reconciliation reports

To access the reconciliation reports through SAP Fiori

User must have /MAGSH/RECON_REPORTS role assigned.

Use BP transaction code

To validate the master data load

Display, Change access in development environment; Display access in production environment

Use FINS_CFIN_MAP_MANAGE transaction code

To validate the master data mappings load

Display, Change, Delete access in development and production environments

Software Logistics and Change Management

In SAP Support Portal, you can use the Download Software link to navigate to the Software Downloads page of SAP ONE Support Launchpad. You can download the package from the list of available support packages on the SUPPORT PACKAGES & PATCHES tab.

Support Desk Management

You can use the SAP ONE Support Launchpad to report incidents related to Master Data Replication. You must use the component, XX-PART-ISW-MDR, to create incidents in SAP ONE Support Launchpad.
